Certified Podologist - C.Pod(I)

A  Podologist  is a specially trained foot care professional having the ability to assist clients with comprehensive leg and foot care, including gait analysis.  Additional foot care services may include the care of both the skin and nails.  A  Podologist  has knowledge of advanced foot and nail pathology, biomechanics, lymphatic problems of the lower extremities, diabetic mellitus and infection control.  Common problems and conditions addressed by the  Podologist , but not limited to, onychomycosis, tinea pedis, involuted and ingrown toenails, heloma, and foot odor.

Podology, literally translated from the Latin language, means "study of the foot" (podo - foot, logia - to study). Podology is a medical science that includes the study, diagnosis, and development of methods for treating diseases of the feet, nails, and skin of the feet.

The direction is not narrow since it combines surgery, dermatology, endocrinology, and even orthopedics. So, podology deals with the pathology of the foot and lower leg.

As a separate discipline, podology, C.Pod (I) is deeply studied in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK, therefore, A specialist in this field has a European level education.
